What have you learnt from your audience feedback ?
This is people watching our rough cut and shows their first reactions to the different scenes in our video. Since this we took on board what they said and also viewed it ourselves as outsiders and changed certain things in the video. These include:
We changed the first glitter scenes to the one bellow as it was more successful and eye catching.
We took out the corridor scene and replaced it with things like the middle picture.
We changed the pale ballet tights to black ones to keep with the colour scheme of all of the rest of our work.
These are new things that we replaced with repetitive old scenes to make it more diverse.
We changed the ripping up money scene so that it was on a white background as the brick wall did not fit in with the rest of the video. We also changed the clothing as there was already a fur coat in the video.
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Laura Mulvey is a British feminist film theorist. She writes about the "male gaze" which is to do with how men look at women as objects through media. This theory could be applied to out video in the way that we challenge contemporary media products by having provocative scenes and seductive clothing. However we see this as not objectifying women but showing they are strong, youthful and free women.
This gif shows real media from our research stages and then our products. In this you can see how we have used, developed and challenged real media conventions for our own products.
Since our last rough cut of the video we have made the changes that needed to be changed so that it would be more successful and eye catching. A lot of the changes that we have made all contribute to making the Mise en scene and overall image of our video more edgy and youthful, like we initially planned. We also filmed the barbie roof scenes and worked along until it was at a stage where it was more successful and didn't look out of place to the rest of our video.
