Draft of poster

This is the draft version of our poster. In it we have included the name of the artist and album using the exact same font and colour scheme that has been used throughout for the rest of our work. Then bellow we have included some key information that would be seen on a real poster which is the date of release. We have then further promoted the artist by stating two popular so0ngs that people would find on the album. In real life artist's posters this is a common thing that is done as it encourages the audience to purchase the album if they know that popular singles will be included in it. 

We have then placed the 'PARENTAL ADVISORY' note onto the poster as this keeps continuity from the album cover. As well as the parental advisory we have kept the image the same as the album front because the initial feedback we received on the CD cover was positive and we were told it was a very strong image that worked perfectly with the content and style of our music video.

There are certain changes that need to be made to the poster to make it even more triumphant, as is the rest of our work. 

• The image will be made slightly bigger and be made more centred so the rule of thirds is followed.
• A thumb nail of the album cover and where you can buy it (iTunes).
• Extra promotion of the artist and album like a facebook abd twitter link.
• All of these changes including some small print will add to make it more proffessional and successful. 

CD background and CD

The image that we have chosen to go behind the CD in our digipak is an optical illusion picture. This was chosen to keep consistencey throughout our media products, as there are optical illusion projector scenes in our music video. We chose to have a black and white image to keep things simple and again sticking to the mise en scene of our work. I find that a simple black and white image would be more effective than a coloured one as we do not want it to look too busy.

The image that we chose to use is from google images, and is of course not our own original work/photography. Therefore the ideal option was to email the owners of the image and seek permission to use the picture for our work. 

 

We were aware before sending the email that it was unlikely that they would respond, however we did recieve an automated email.

 

 

This part of the Digipak was created by Ellie and this is the proof tools that she created showing how she altered the image to make it more of our own. 

  This is what the edited version of our behind CD is. It is more successful than the original because it has become more of an illusion and more like the ones that are used in our video.

When compared with a real product, which is katy perry's CD, which was in our research, It looks more similar to this and looks a lot better.

This is the draft copy of the inside left of the CD cover. The picture has been made better in the way it has been brightened like all of the other images which is more successful than it being dull.

It connects well to the video as the dog and the fur coat are both featured a few times in the video. There are certain things that need to be changed further for it to be of a better standard. The skin will b made less orange and her hand will be made less of a red tone. The lipstick will be altered in colour and pigment so that it matches the lipstick on the front image. Lastly the hair line will be made thicker so there is not an orange patch by her forehead.

Chosen image 

This is the draft of our CD front cover. There is a big transformation from the original image taken and then the one that has been made for the cover. The whole image and background has been made brighter so it looks more striking and less dull. Also the red lipstick has been made more pigmented and matches the '#HARD' really well and stands out. We have kept to our colour scheme perfectly in this image as it  is all black and white themed with red added to it to give it some colour and look more eye catching. The parental advisory thing is added to quite a lot of music videos now and although it actually mans parental advisory it gives it an edge and makes it seem more eccentric. 

Back of Cd constuction

This picture is the one that we chose for the back of our CD cover. The background on the image is dull and grey therefore it needed to be altered to make it bright and white. There are spots on the models back as well that can be edited out to make it look more of a perfect image. The skin of the model would also look more attractive if it was brighter and more tanned. 

In order to make the changes that were needed I used the 'clone stamp' tool to take parts of the skin and place them on top of the spots to make them not visible. I also used the brightness tool to brighten the whole image so that it appears more bold and attractive. 

One the image was edited to the way it would look best for the cover I typed out the song names and put the even numbers (2,4,6etc) in red and the odd in black. I put them in our chose font that we have used throughout our video and then placed them down the middle of her back.

The final touches of the back of the cover included the small print about the music label and a barcode.

Ancillary photo-shoot 2

We re shot our photos because they were a bit scruffy and the lighting was not very good on them. But we shot the same poses and ideas and also a few new ones like the her in the bath. 

These are the pictures that we re shot for the reverse cover where she is shot facing the wall. We chose to have the pose where she has her hands on her head with her elbows completely out and her hands are in her hair. 

We shot a lot of pictures where she is face on and then some where she is facing slightly to the side. We decided that the face on ones are definitely going to look better as a strong CD cover image. 

We also shot a range of different poses with the dog. There are ones where she is looking at him and lifting him up and others where she is pouting and sticking her tongue out. these images are for the inside of our CD case. 

Ancillary photo-shoot

We took some photos of our model while we were filming part of our video. In the pictures she is dressed in the fur coat and in others she appears to be naked from the shoulders up. We also took some pictures with the dog in them for the inside of the CD.

Wearing a fur coat that is also shown in the video to keep it consistent. The poses she is doing are fierce and contrast with the fluffy dog which gives a good effect to the image. These images will be used for the inside of the CD.

In these pictures where she is not wearing any clothes we got her to look straight into the camera with a strong look and give eye contact t make her seem provocative. In some images we got her to stick her tongue out which she does a lot throughout the video. I think that the images where she is just looking into the camera are a lot more powerful and will suit our video better. 

These photos are for the back of our album cover so it matches the front and its like shes looking into the CD. The hands on head pose was done so that it looked better and more seductive. We got her to play around with where she put her arms and discovered that ones like the middle picture was the best pose.
